Pollachi Mission in Tamil Nadu
Nallampally is a backward panchayat village near Pollachi in Tamil Nadu. It is a mission field of Salem Voice Ministries, and we have about 30 families gathering as Gilgal Prayer House for worship at a verandah, which is in front of two rooms of a small house. Everybody cannot sit in the verandah, so many of them sitting in the rooms or standing on the ground. Pastor Paul Phinahas and family ministering there and Pastor Victor assisting them.
People are very poor in this village. The earning members of the families are coolie labourers, and they get labouring works once in a week or two only.
Not only food, but water also was a big problem in this village. People were getting water from Panchayat once in 15 days only. When the water comes they collect it in as much as pots and vessels. When getting shortage of the water, they had been walking with pots on heads to carry the water from the nearest borewell, which is about one and a half kilometers away from Nallampally village. It was salty water also.
We informed this situation to Hope Ministries India for their prayers and Nancy Grimason and friends helped us to rig a borewell at Nallampally.
Actually everybody was afraid whether they would get water if drill a borewell there. Because, sometime ago panchayat tried to install a borewell and rigged nearly 1000 feets deep, but did not get water. So the whole congregation had a fasting prayer and started rigging the borewell.
Praise and thank God. Our Lord did miracle and blessed them with plenty of water through the borewell without any salty taste. Now more than 20 families also accepted Lord Jesus Christ and joined with the congregation by seeing this miracle. They are in need of a church building as there own and looking unto God for a plot and church.
Sooleswaranpatty is another area in Pollachi. Pastor Selladurai and family ministering there. Around 15 families gathering for the worship in a small rented room. They also face water problem and praying to get a borewell. And also praying for a plot and a church building.
Nellimedu is another remote hilly area. It is a border place in between Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu and Palakkad District of Kerala. We have a prayer service once in a month and about 20 believers attending from both Hindu and Muslim religions. On the same day we reach Gospel to the local people by house visiting to pray for the sick and also by corner meetings. Pastor Radhakrishnan and family ministering in this place.
Nellimedu people also suffering for water. They too requesting to make a borewell there. We do pray for it. If we can rig them a borewell at Nellimedu, it will be a christian witness and many more people will come to the Lord.
Pastor Verghese, Pastor Richard and Pastor Paulraj also ministering surrounding areas of Pollachi. Pray for them. Our pastors need supports.
